I can't believe you were round the corner from my hoose! I live round the corner from The Prestonfield House Hotel. They are the loveliest neighbours. The owner, Mr Thomson, puts on "street parties" for the neighbouring streets, when the Royals have a special day (i.e. Kings Coronation) and they hand deliver the invites. We were expecting a wee sarnie and a cup of we were gifted a whole afternoon with a brass band, delicious sandwiches, pies, cakes, fizz, wine, an ice cream van, face painting, sweetie stalls etc, all gifted freely to us all. The Heiland Coos are fabulous, and we often wander around the grounds to visit them and the stunning peacocks. I'm so happy you had a lovely stay. We are very lucky where we live x
