The most recent versions of software are not always available in intaller tools such as Softaculous. Therefore, if you want to use the most current version (including Beta or Release Candidates) you will need to do a manual install of the software. In this episode of Community Q&A, we will show you how to install Drupal 8 manually within the cPanel of your hosting account. There are just a few simple steps involved:

- Creating the Drupal database
- Create the database user
- Attach the user to the database
- Uploading the Drupal 8 compressed file
- Extract the package files
- Copy the files to the desired location
- Follow the Drupal install wizard

How did you get by the warning on "Verify Requirements" that reads:

Not enabled

Thanks for nice and useful video. I installed accordingly and I have the site but none of the admin menu works, it shows 404, any idea?

I got to around the same time as the previous comment (typing in your website name to install Drupal) and got a 403 error.
Tried following the directions in the link you provided and don't have a php.ini file. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, I'm installing 8.2.2 through Cpanel. I got to 6.18 of your video but on my site i'm faced with "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." all files are in the correct place so i'm not sure where this is going wrong

When you copy the files from the drupal folder to public_html (or wherever) you need to make sure that you are copying ALL files, including hidden ones. If not, you won't have the .htaccess file and none of the links will work.
