I’m a detransitioner. I was put on HRT at 16, the so called “gender therapist” told my Mum I’d take my life if she didn’t let me go on it. I never told the therapist this, in fact I said I had doubts I was trans to which she told me “all trans people have doubts”. Ironically, I had multiple attempts on my life during transition (one of which ultimately led me back to my Catholic faith) but when I decided enough was enough and detransitioned 7yrs later (3yrs ago), my mental health improved significantly to the point that I don’t meet criteria for any of the mental health diagnoses I was given anymore. These “gender therapists” or whatever other variety of names they call themselves are honestly scum. They deal in emotional blackmail of both patient and guardian.

Yeah it literally is no different than a manipulative ronantic partner threatening to unalive because they're not getting what they want. If a kid is talking about unaliving you get them therapy to work through it, you don't irreperably alter their body.

My brother used that tactic on my mom, he got the surgeries, then took his life when sanity returned and he realized he destroyed his health.

I don't remember thinking much about or even understanding what suicide was as a kid in the 90's and 00's. How do all these children know and think about this so much? The only reason kids know about this now is it's being taught to them by parents or schools.

Trent, well done to you for your courage. Many public figures talk against the transgenderism today and get praised when a couple of months ago were banding over backwards for the 'correct' pronouns. They can speak freely now because of a tiny group of people who were always courageous and open - like you. (Also, Matt Walsh who had his family safety threatened etc)

One of my best friends believes he's a woman bound in the wrong body and is starting hormone therapy.

I am damn terrified of getting the phone call from his mom that he's realized he made a horrible mistake and decided to take his life. I'm praying for him but I'm still scared.
