Hello from New York. You speak with clarity and strength. It is reassuring as a person of Greek descent to know that the country of my family's origin Greece is moving in the direction of peace through strength, in the direction of prosperity through strength. Greece needs a strategic vision to develop programs on its own and with strategic partners like Israel for air defense and long range weapons systems as well as advanced electronic detection. A look at the map shows clearly the benefits of tying Greece and Cyprus into the Israeli Arrow 3 and Iron Dome systems. And it is time for Greece to look at ballistic missile defenses and to develop its own medium and long range ballistic missiles. Laser and high energy weapons systems are the present and the future and can be developed jointly with Israel. I admire the minister's frankness and strength. This is exactly what Greece needs not just now, but always. The Greek people through their elected officials must realize that defense spending cannot occur in spurts when faced with specific crises over time, but must occur annually over time with a strategic plan. Greece will always have a neighbor that is unfriendly and at times acts as an enemy. Greece must always spend for its military and always fund programs for upgrades, new systems and research and development of future systems. This will never change.
