I grew up in the 1960s/70s and it's very difficult to recapture the magic of the past. ( 1960s - 1990s )

Actually, Wesley seems to capture Shatner's portrayal of the no nonsense, serious side of Kirk's persona whereas Pine's performance owed more to Kirk's lighter moments. 🖖

Seen Shatner once. It's funny watching him sitting there he reminded me of my dad. My dad passed away dec 2019. I suppose we all act similar in movements ad we age. Miss my dad, miss a lot of people theses days.

As much as iv liked trek bridge crews over the years no crew beats kirks crew they always had there captains back even if it ment a court Marshall. Shatners kirk just commanded respect hes such a revered captain through out the galaxy by adversaries and friends alike

The problem with all these other actors is that it seems to take three or four different actors to make up one Shatner acted Kirk. He can be humerus, tough, a ladies man ( even if those "ladies" aren't quite human) where all these other actors just seem to have one part of the equation but not all of them! When Kirk fights he FIGHTS!! A real life judo master, a champion horse rider, he can actually shoot a gun etc these other guys are just actors. Now of course so is Shatner, but he played Kirk for almost forty years...he is Kirk
