I always wondered how Santa managed to get all those toys ready for Christmas. Turns out he's travelling around car boot sales in September.

I'm so jealous of that LOTR cassette set, I'm obsessed with books and stories on weird formats (the 50s and 60s had great shit on vinyl, I have Edgar Allan Poe's stories read by the legendary Basil Rathbone on a 12") and that is one of those things I might come across at a thrift store where I live. I find the craziest audio related media

What's nice about this thrift shop series is that you still buy stuff. Last time LGR did a thrifting episode, he didn't purchase anything! I guess it goes to show how thin Goodwill's selection has gotten as of late.

You and LGR aren't supposed to exist in the same universe, you know that right?

Someone took a little stroll through the backdoors of the multiverse there...

I quite enjoyed the reference to David lol.

7:38 that bloke examining the 'grubby 50p' such behaviour is CLASSIC at a carboot!

I was disappointed re the lack of broken Sodastreams. As far as I understand English Car Boot Sale law, a broken Sodastream for sale on a 'nearing collapse state' pasting table, is mandatory .

"Look a BB-gun, 8 Bit Guy would love it here" made this video on its own 🤣

"A BB gun, the 8-Bit Guy would love it here!" Pfft, as if he would be interested in a firearm that doesn't fire lethal rounds.

I'm so jelly of those micromachines, I had so many as a youngin' and they got a ton of play.

I love thrift videos!! I gotta go thrifting again soon. Love that this place opened at 11am, all the flea markets here open up way too early!

You struck gold with the LOTR Cassette tape set. I think it’s the BBC dramatisation of the LOTR. Very much worth a listen.

That just brought back memories spending rainy Sundays when everything was shut. Being transported to another world by listening to LOTR on reel to reel tapes I found in my dads tape library that he had recorded off Radio 4 FM. Hitch hikers guide the galaxy was another revelation as 10 year old.

Good to see a British version of LGR thrifts - always frustrating to not have access to stores that our cousins across the water do. The good thing about discovering something late is being able to watch a ton of old vlogs. Nice one NN.

That Lord of the Rings audio book on cassette is a really good one. Listened to it from my local library in the early 90s.

I had one of those tiny Zeon tech iMac clock radio calculator things asa kid back in 1999 and I loved it! Sorry I ever got rid of it! I'm no Apple fan really but the iMac G3 was a symbol of the times, that translucent plastic still catches my eye today. Those things are rare enough these days so take care of it, I still wish I had mine.

Is that "grind those balls" sir, a Red Dwarf "Rimmerworld" reference?

Edit: continued watching and yep haha

Some nice stuff at that boot sale; every time I get up early enough to go to one they seem to have nothing much apart from baby clothes and crappy vases. Nice to see a boot sale that doesn't start at 6am too, never understand why they have to kick off so bloody early!

That Wii mat could be a welcome mat of sorts. Each of the inputs could be connected to a booby-trap; and whichever input is triggered first will decide whether the visitor gets slimed (from above) or splashed (from the side) or attacked by a bunch of puff-balls from somewhere.
