I first saw Rocky when it came out. I was 13. I still tear up today, 44 years later. As an 8th grade science teacher I have shown this clip countless times to my students. Its message is timeless and universal. With hard work, you are capable of achieving anything. Above and beyond what you thought yourself capable of. Now get out there and do it!

For some reason, this song came on my radio the same time some fat guy from my neighbourhood was tryig to lose some weight by jogging around the neighbourhood. So, I increased the volume and winded down my radio. Boy, he really got motivated and kept up the pace.

I babysit for this family and one of the kids never finishes his lunch before he has to go back to his 1st grade zoom class. I played this song on repeat, threw some punches in the air, flexed my nonexistent muscles occasionally, and put a bottle rocket timer in front of him. He thought it was funny and was having so much fun he finished his lunch with 9 minutes to spare! I lifted him high in the air to the sound of a crowd going wild and he put his fists in the air. He was so proud!

I saw the first Rocky movie in the theater in spring 1977. It was released in December 1976. I can't express what an impression that movie made on a goofy kid who was a bit of a misfit at the time. To this day I'll still go back once or twice a year to the films and I'll also watch some of the clips here on YouTube just re-stir the old flames in my heart. Lately they need stirring more than ever!

A year ago I visited Philadelphia and ran up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum like Rocky did.  Needless to say it is quite a common occurrence there.

Thank you for uploading this song. It brings back sweet memories and tears to my eyes. I used to play this song on VHS for my little sister who had math phobia in high school. I used to tell her she is a champ and just like Rocky she needs to practice and persevere to succeed in life. I would play this song over and over again and even on the way to school on her exam day. All the time telling her that she is a true champ.
She is now a nurse working for one of the biggest hospitals in Toronto. I'm so proud of her, my little champ !!!

You can say what you want about Stallone.  But to me he hit it out of the park with this film.   When the "Gonna fly now "  Theme starts up in this movie it almost gets me to tears of inspiration.  And I've seen this a hundred times.    This is a special movie.
