Pelosi: Democrats are capitalists

During a CNN town hall, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was asked if the democratic party could move more left on economics to which she replied, "We're capitalist."

Pelosi was right about what she said, however it isn't shareholder capitalism. It is just Capitalism! Capitalism means the board of directors have the power economically, not the workers, and I don't see Pelosi trying to change the relationship between the people who sell their labor and the people who own the capital.

Nobody would have ever been able to question capitalism to Pelosi before now. That reaction there at first; that was realization and fear.

When she says "we are capitalist", what she's unwittingly admitting to is that the party is incapable of confronting the class antagonisms within our current society. Both major parties cater to the ruling class of rich business owners, which is why despite being among the richest countries in the world able to afford quality healthcare, education, and housing for all, we have stark inequality, poverty, job and health insecurity. Only a movement led by the working class can bring about the changes we need.

no subsidies
no lobbyist written favorable regulations
No thousand page trade deals cementing corporate monopoly...

We don't live in capitalism what so ever.... Government works with big banks to the benefit of big corporations...

And we regulate small local business into submission...

We have corporatism... Or corporate socialism..
