iOS 14 in Apple CarPlay - 10 new USEFUL features & changes!

iOS 14 doesn't only impact the iPhone and the iPad. It impacts the car experience with Apple Carplay. In this update released at WWDC, there are 10 new features and changes. No CarPlay dongle needed. You can finally add wallpapers to your background in CarPlay!

Hey I’m having a problem with my #AppleCarPlay in my 2021 #Hyundai #Elantra. The issue is while driving the screen blanks out black and a message is displayed stating that the phone is not responding and needs to be reconnected. This is a major distraction because it happens multiple times while heading to my destinations as a #lyft #driver. The dealer ship is placing the blame on #apple and saying it’s nothing they can do....

Thanks for the video. I was hoping Apple would allow third-party apps like Google maps on the main split screen as Apple maps does not work in my region. So most of the updates are great mainly for the states.

I am trying to add my garage door opener on to my Apple play screen. I don’t think I can do that unless I can?

Would love to see it do split screen, so I can have the Map on my digital dash as well as the main centre screen. Or even the directions on the dash and map on the centre screen. Would also like buttons on the left hand side vase away when not in use.

Two minor improvements;
1. Dashboard will now show exit number in roundabouts - but does show it quite late (probably because of space on different screens). Mine shows at 100 meters before the manoeuvre😱.
2. When playing music and calendar is not presented at Dashboard, you can now see how much of a song is left. Showed with a stripe only - but still.😊
