Rand Paul Spews Racist Rant About College Athletes Getting Paid

Sen. Rand Paul spoke at a Senate Committee Hearing about the PGA-LIV golf merger, and bemoaned how antitrust laws have impacted college sports so that they're no longer amateur and athletes expect compensation. "Now everybody that plays basketball in college is gonna be driving a Bentley or a Rolls. I mean, we're gonna be seeing rap stars instead of basketball stars."

I don’t understand why people get so upset at pro-athletes making money. They are one of the few millionaires who actually earned their fortune in a capitalistic meritocracy. They had to beat out thousands for their spot, and every day they have to prove they belong on the roster. Where else in life do we hold millionaires to that level of accountability?
