They put out a short story in this same universe called Livesuit. I would recommend that you read that and then decide if you want to continue with the series. I enjoyed the character work much more. You also get to see a completely different aspect of the war with the aliens. It really made me want to read the next book.

The longer I spend away from this book, the lower it sinks in my estimation lol. I totally agree on that hivemind thingy POV, that is also one of my least favourite tropes in scifi. Very solid review as always :))

I like it. I don’t think it’s the best book that they have written but because of what happened with the expanse I feel like the authors have my trust to carry on the series cause I feel the world will open up into something amazing.
