In this Star Citizen 3.24 gameplay video, we take a look at how to profit by salvaging abandoned ships near space stations. Thanks to the latest Star Citizen update, salvaging laws have changed, letting players salvage derelict ships legally and without a crime stat. Perfect, it was useful to create a topic on Spectrum and CIG heard us.
In one fell swoop, it also helps to improve the performance in game around space stations and "suppresses" elements to be processed by the game engine

I like turning off my engine and using G gimbals to only move the heads. I also like that in deeper space it drops my signature to help avoid detection

Really enjoying your videos. Will be using them a lot over the next 2 weeks whilst I learn the game on my time off work.

The name vulture is such a good name for this type of ship

Being able to hull stirp twice is most definitely a bug that should be reported.

I don't see "Friendly Fire" anywhere, or hear a voice in this scene.
However I tested my Cinch on one ship and in big red words "FREINDLY FIRE" as well as an audible voice saying it.
The ship icon turned blue as well as the numbers turned to a players handle. So I left it alone and no crime stat....whew.
It would be very helpful if the word "Salvageable" would pop up when scanning.

In the past when a ship was abonded the owner was set to GameRules, but it seems they have taken that information away from the V key scanning, or do i miss something. Still good to know to use the tractor beam to identify abonded ships. Thanks

I don't have an item list on the right side show up when I scan ships like you do here. Is there a key/toggle buried deep in the settings/options pages?
Thanks for these vids, crime stats suk, time in a bugged prison is me an hour of wondering around the mines, none of the kiosks worked. My stat went from 1 to 2, and four seconds later the announcer said I was free to go.
GO WHERE LOL?
I finally found some scary big doors with warning signs and went through them anyway. Found myself at Tresser/Tressor station.
OIY!! (face palm)

Of you press G you dont have to move your ship to scrape. It just moves the beams.

I am having the same issue where RMC boxes in New Babbage inventory doesn't show up at TDD terminal to sell. I also purchased Beryl and placed in NB inventory with the same result. I haven't tried hauling it to GH. Seems like too much work for a bug.

Yep I travel around to the stations and look for ships to salvage. I have munched Reclaimers, MSR, Constellation and more. A great way to cash in $$.

I expressed this in the feedback thread, but I really want Salvaging to include manual disassembly of ship parts, And have it be worth it to spend the time. CIG are constantly making features but leaving them in a tier 0 state, Nothing gets properly polished for public release. These people don't work like a real game dev studio. Idk how you managed to scrap the hull so easily. When I do it, the visual scraping is completely different from what the SCU/s number under the circles. I kinda have to leave every part of the metal dark grey and move away to work at a proper pace, otherwise its a waste of time waiting for the visual scrap to catch up. Its a annoying experience. We need to demand better polishing from CIG, after all we are paying them!

They took away my vulture (and a dozen other ingame bought ships) with 3.23 update, recently bought one again.

With all the empty bottles, and med gowns....etc laying around in this game now, they should post jobs for custodial work and you could walk around with a mall cleaning cart making easy safe $$.
I mean I like the realistic npc's standing around but they can reduce the number down 60% and the trash barrels aren't interactive at all. This could help some laggy areas right?
Immersive game play I'm all in, but it's looking like NY city and outskirts of LA these
AACK!!!
