Hey Chaps! Would you subscribe to GFN??

And just to make clear "session length" means you can instantly restart another 6/8 hour session. It is not a daily limit.

The biggest problem with GFN is that there's no ability to give the higher tiers a trial run. I would love to see what the new 3080 backed subscription is like when it's available but I don't want to pay to find out I don't like it and then not be able to get a refund for the unused time. A 1-day trial would be plenty just to see what it's like.

Since the shortages started at the 30 series card launch, i've actually been an avid user of Geforce Now. I was really surprised that most of the time its works really well considering I'm using wi-fi as well.

I've been using GeForce now for a while and it's been perfect for me, experienced little to no lag over a long time using it. It really depends on your connection. I have FTTH and over 100Mbps so I'm not worried about latency or bandwidth. If you're connecting to the internet using copper like ADSL or VDSL, might want to test it more with free sessions before purchasing. Any FTTC connection is probably good for this however as minimal copper involved.

Can you make a comparison between GFN, xCloud and Stadia and compare the performance, game availability, etc. Maybe you can throw Luna in there too.

Also guys, nvidia will add support for more phones and tablets/ipads and also allow 120hz at 1440p on those devices in the near future. HDR will also be supported as it is on 4k60fps on the shield tv

Got the rtx 3080 subscription. My pc still has gtx 1060 so its quite the difference. My internet speed over wifi is approx 600mbit and Im super impressed by how smooth it is. Everything maxed out on 1440p. No lag whatsoever and shooters like bfv entirely playable. Best part, I can stream to my 75" tv and replaces need for console. Also works a lot better than streaming over steam link.
Only room for improvement is that not all games I own like God of War is available.

I remember when the beta gave you unlimited playtime for free. Good times

I think they should add the 1440p support for the "priority" tier level, 1440p it's getting more common and 1080p streamings in a 1440p fullscreen look blurry af. Even if you had to untick a few effects in the game quality settings I would be happy.

In regards to cost comparison, many don't take into consideration the power draw. At $16 per month that is the same price if not cheaper than the electricity running a 3080 or Next Gen console natively.

Just power alone you are spending the same, and not having to buy compontents, etc.

I've been following this tech since I was an onlive tester. Treid Geforce now last year, and it was cool but noticable input lag, tried this year 2022, and its amazing. Almost no input lag at all. Runs smooth, I can play fortnight and warthunder online and win. There is no doubt this is the future of computing. After a month with GFN I can see the age of the personal computer ending. For everything, with this kind of access to server power, there really isn't a need for a powerful PC in your house anymore.

I live in the Netherlands. I have no latency issues. Currently i have cable, gforce settings advises my current settings to need 50mbps.
This year i have an upgrade to glass fiber planned.
Yes, i highly advise using it in the Netherlands.
I have a pretty hardcore gamer friend who declared me a fool for playing competetive cod warzone but i did not feel i missed something. Or perhaps i did not notice it. I'm not really hardcore competetive or anything and i mostly play story drivengames.

It does suck not all games i like to play are on it. Like diablo or that protocol horror game. But i hope its a matter of time.
I was zo happy when i read i could play total warhammer 3 on it a while ago.
I played that on my own rig at 2k at 30fps. Now i play it with all settings on at 4k and still 60 fps.

I sound like a damn advertisement right now. But hey, I'm very happy with it. I'm one of those founder tier so i also get a bit of discount.
This reply tot much much much longer then i planned. So i'm going to end it here!
Happy 2023 all. Wish you all a good year.

It is rather cheap. I will stick to my pc gaming but a really amazing option for Mac users

I've been using it to game on the crappy computers at work or when traveling in general. I think the priority version is good enough if you know the places you're going to be frequenting have decent internet. You adapt to the latency after a while too unless its extremely bad. It's a respectable alternative for someone who simply can't afford or get their hands on decent hardware but happens to have access to a good internet connection otherwise

I have a 3080 subscription and I must say it works perfectly. The fps is what it should be expected, I cant feel any input lag at all and it generally runs really great. Well worth the money as an alternative to buying an expensive rig which is also devalueing like crazy.

The only real issue I have with the service is that it missed many titles I already have purchased on Steam and would like to play. Other than that I am convinced that personal gaming PC"s are a thing of the past, and this comes from a guy who sold gamign pcs for a living.

You gotta have a fast internet connection which is wired. 5g wireless is too stuttery for me even when the router is directly next to the pc. I do have a bad router though...I am playing cyberpunk right now on 1440p and the only issue I have is screen tearing from the ridiculous amount of frames I get which is still noticeable with vysync on.

Some of the few games I have that worked on it were The Crew 1 & 2. I was pretty impressed. I run a WISP, I have a few levels of hardware, i5 6300 HQ GTX 960M laptop, FX 6300 + GTX 970 desktop, Ryzen 3700x + RTX 3060 desktop. Geforce Now on my laptop, free version, honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and streaming the game from my desktop 10 ft away.

If you push your hardware too far and don't get a steady framerate then Geforce Now is already faster than what you have. That said, if you take the time to lower the settings to hit 60 fps locally you'd be faster, just not as pretty.

You need to turn on fps monitoring in Steam to always see what your current FPS is from the virtual rig. Also, use the ctrl+N Nvidia stream overlay to see what the stream is being sent at fps wise. Compare the two to see what you are getting. For example if the stream is 120 and your rig is 120+ then you are getting 120. The rig running any higher than 120 means nothing because the stream is only 120. But if your rig drops below 120 and the stream is 120, then you are getting whatever fps the rig is doing. If your stream fps drops below 120 then you are getting whatever the stream fps is until your network connection is better.

I have a gaming laptop with a 3060 and still run geforce on it (3080 version) for improved graphics. I love this service.

I would love to use GeForce Now as work machine. Paying that money for using it with architecture software, CAD, Cinema 4D would be a killer deal.
