Mike's!!! Yes, Chris! This was the 1st artisan shaving soap I bought back in 2014. It definitely does still check all of the boxes. He sells samples and has brought back the shave sticks, too. Don't sleep on his bath bars or shampoo bars when he has them in stock on his website. Most of the shaving soaps I have from Mike's Natural Soaps are in the tins with the kraft paper labels. I never had an issue with them, but have been careful. I am not a shill for the brand, just a big fan for years.

PS: Now I have to go dig some out. I've been caught up in trying some of the shiny new soaps lately. FOMO can sometimes make you forget what brought you to this point, I guess. Thanks for the reminder, CDB!

Oh, Mike's is as outstanding as anything else out there. Everyone loves the shiny, creamy lathers you get from A&E, B&M, Wholly Kaw, etc, and they're clearly great, but Mike's makes a lather just as good with equally good properties. The coconut is EPIC.

Great video Chris! As you, and many others say: Mike's is great stuff and don't get as much love as it should. Now artisans comes out with new bases every year. Mike had used the same base for a decade now and it's still a top tier soap with great scents.

I started with a Weck prior to a straight. The Weck forced me to learn & respect consistent pressure & angle.
My most recent video was with the IBC. I love the quality shavettes for their effortless slicing. I think of it like ice skating. They simply glide.
After recently trying Joshua Hoods SS I had to order one for myself. I love it's longer tail plus that slightly rolled & raised edge profile makes it glide like no other I have tried.
I will always prefer straights for their wonderful edge feel but when I travel or when rushed, shavettes serve their purpose plus the effortless glide of a shavette can be like a roller coaster. Just throw your hands up high and enjoy the ride. 😬🤪😉

Great video and thanks for reminding us of Mike’s soap. Had the orange, cedar wood, and pepper back in the day and loved the scent. Going to order a new tub and matching AS, which wasn’t available in the past. Thanks again for all you do.
