I watched the movie with my dad recently and was like "damnn that was very well casted! He looks so much like churchill"
Then I looked up the actor and thaught "what what"

That is so amazing I didn't suspect a thing watching the movie. Perfect balance between giving the viewer an authentic churchill and a great actor

I really didn't think makeup was applied in this movie. I couldn't tell at all, and I wasn't aware at all. Just after seeing this I now realize and wow. I am amazed.

Oldman did such great job acting in this that I kept forgetting that this was not the real Churchill. Amazing acting!

I had no idea. It was so convincing. There were so many closeup shots, long takes at that. The makeup AND the acting made it believable. WOW.

I tried to look for any flaws because most prosthetics have them and you can really tell they are. Other movies opt for VFX. But in this one, the only reason I could think of for Gary Oldman to achieve the Churchill look was that he gained a lot of weight for the movie. But noooo...

Kudos to the team. Job well done!

It's almost not makeup anymore, it's nearly magic.

That said, another amazing feat of makeup was Hitler in "Der Untergang" which I had to compare to an actual photograph of Hitler to see the difference. Here though the character of Hitler was carried an awful lot by the talent of the actor who did a very convincing job.

Kazuhiro Tsuji is one of be best makeup artists out there! America really has the best talent when it comes to film making.

The first time I watched this movie. I didn’t know what Gary looked like but I knew what Churchill looked like. I had No idea he was wearing all that custom material.

Dude, imagine if they had just done this for Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One!! Like, you can hear some producer or studio or whoever saying, "Oh, it'd be too hard to do it convincingly, too much work for a mediocre result." But here, it's been proven that an entire movie can be shot like this! Setting it up for the, what, three scenes with Grand Moff Tarkin would have been child's play compared to this.
