A year back, this video prevented me from replacing my dishwasher. The "blade"/fan behind the plastic housing at 4:28 was replaced for $10 and the upper rack was cleaning great. Back again to this video to see how I should clean the dishwasher. Thank you!

I have different model which is a bit easier to take apart, I had cleaned it before but never knew to take off the cap. When I did this time I found a Yogurt Drink petra-pak top, a Zip Tie, a bunch of dog hair from previous tenants. Once that was cleared I put it through a test wash and it's working better than it has since we moved in. Thanks for posting!

Good cleaning advice, plus you should plunge your kitchen sink that is attached in case that is backing up the DW drain. If cleaning all this still results in the water filling and draining, but the washer arms don't move (remember their position), AND if the DW is 5 or more years old, it is likely the circulation pump. I replaced controller board, water inlet valve, cleaned thoroughly, no joy. I replaced the circulation pump using a great YouTube, and voila! It cleans like new, strong spray getting it all clean. Good luck!

Easy to follow. Found out bottom of washer got sticky labels from glass jars. Once cleaned, upper rack now has lots of water flow.

Just wanted to say thanks for making this vid. Easy to follow, and I appreciate you using a head-mounted camera (GoPro or whatever). That made it really easy to see what you're trying to show. Cheers!

I was convinced this is what I needed to do. However, I have a slightly different model and I’m not seeing how to open up the bottom assembly. It all looks like it’s sealed in with rubber and plastic. No screws. Model WDT730PAHZ0. Are you familiar with this model and do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have a video for cleaning the circulation pump? I did this a week back but the upper rack still has some soap residue on the dishes.

I followed your video. Fantastic detail. Thank you. One question, at almost the end of your video you mentioned adjusting the float assembly, mushroom looking thing. I didnt see how or where you you adjusted the float assembly. Could you by chance clarify this for me please? Im thinking its located in the front right corner?

I have a kitchen aid dishwasher and I've noticed the spray arm gets caught on the tube on the rack that supplies the water so it won't spin.

Thanks for the video - very helpful. My dishwasher did not have too much debris in it and after I reassembled it, the upper rack is still not getting very clean. Is it possible that the pump motor is weak or the pump itself is just worn out and not putting out the proper pressure/volume?

Would you fix a 15 year old whirlpool that isn't cleaning on the top rack or would you just replace it? I'm thinking about the cost of having a repairman come out and do what you just did versus just buying a new one. Great video!

Have you ever seen a mid arm catch on the rack and if so how would you fix it?
