Do you need a series of engaging video lessons to help with Handwriting? Look no further…Twinkl Teacher Stephanie and her letter family friends are here to help!
In this sequence of 4 teacher-led, helpful lessons, Stephanie introduces one letter family at a time so children can see the connections between forming similar letters.
In Lesson 1, children start with an interactive warm-up, so their finger muscles are ready to write! Then Stephanie introduces the Curly Caterpillar family of letters (c, a, o, q, g, d, e, s and f). Children will even brush up on their phonics knowledge too, as they write CVC words containing the curly caterpillar letters.➡
In Lesson 2, Stephanie moves onto the Ladder Family of letters (l, I, j, t, u and y). And don’t worry if you don’t have a printer…in this lesson children are even shown how to make their own handwriting lined paper. So, everyone can take part! Visit this page to watch the video right now ➡
In Lesson 3, children are introduced to the ‘one-armed robot’ family of letters (r, m, n, h, b, k and p). With a fun play dough fine motor warm up, your children will be eager to practise handwriting with this lesson every day! You’ll find Lesson 3 here on our Twinkl Teaches page ➡
Lesson 4 finishes with the zig-zag letter family (v, w, x and z) . Children will warm up with a brilliant threading game, before following Stephanie’s step-by-step guide for forming zig-zag letters and phonic friendly zigzag words. ➡
All the lessons in this series use pictures and practical activities, so handwriting practise is made fun. Grouping lessons into letter families helps you target your child’s learning to what they need to practise most. And don’t forget, all our lessons have pause, fast forward and rewind buttons. So, your child is always free to work at their own pace to master their new skill!
Perfectly used as homework, or even for a daily handwriting practise session, all our handwriting lessons are available to launch on the Twinkl Teaches website any time you are ready!
Don’t forget, if you want more tips, tricks and Twinkl handwriting resources, read our KS1 Twinkl Online Learning Blog post, ‘How to help your child to improve their handwriting’ ➡
