Think about it

Keith flunked out of the academy due to a discipline issue, leaving a space open for Pidge. Pidge is the one that picked up the alien transmissions and without that happening they would have never found out that the Galra exist. They also used Pidge's computer to hack into the cameras and help save Shiro. Keith is the one who took them all to his shack/cabin and showed them his research and findings. Without that research they would never have made Hunk give them that readings sheet and they would have never found the blue lion!

This all happened because Keith has an attitude...
