Fantastic video my friend. I am right around the same age as you. The N64 launched when I was 20 and it was the first console for me as well that I paid for all on my own. My roommate at the time purchased a PS1 so we had both in the apartment. When I think about those day I think endless hours of couch co-op. Goldeneye, Quake, Wrestling games. It hasn’t aged as well as other retro consoles but the N64 was so influential to the gaming industry. I have mad Nostalgia for it. Cheers 🍻

I love the look of the n64. It's got some sexy curves.plus all those ports blew my mind. I loved it.
Turok was amazing. I was spoiled with doom on the PC first. But to play a 3d fps on a console felt so different for the time.
I totally get what you mean by being frustrated with conkers... but as a whole I really liked it. Maybe the xbox one might have ironed over some of the issues. 👌
Great memories, including ones that have just been made with conkers 👍

Great video. Love the N64. TBH when I got one again, I didn't suddenly find it odd how to hold the controller again lol. Didn't phase me back in the day. Golden Eye is my go-to for N64 memories. So many hours. Enjoyed Turock as well, and Mario Kart, but my other fave has to be Beetle Adventure Racing, which interestingly, here in Australia, they also rebranded for Holden and released it as "HSV Adventure Racing" replacing the commentator with an Austrlian one, and the Beetles with Holdens. Not an April fool. Look it up. It's a thing. :) Thanks so much for sharing your N64 memories. Loved it. (PS, are you from the West Country going by accent?)

I really enjoyed your retrospective view of the N64. I never played on one mate, but I do remember my best mate owning one and going on about Goldeneye.
Nice one mate! 👍

I really enjoyed this mate. Absolutely fantastic to hear your memories of my most nostalgic console.

You've hit the nail on the head a few times regarding the N64. It doesn't get the love it deserves in my opinion. Nintendo created so many ideas that Sony went on to copy. The cartridges keep it at that lovely charming level.

Haha I keep laughing at the 'smoke some cigarettes', I was only 11 when it came out but it was the first console I looked forward to at launch. It was 1st March 1997.

If you watch my Nintendo Journey videos I talk about how me and my dad created a cardboard divider for our TV too for Goldeneye 007 😎

With regards to the price, it was reduced by £100. My mam bought mine for me and a week later it was reduced, so she complained do Virgin Megastore and they refunded her £100.. and she then bought me Turok for £69.99! I've mentioned all the games there in my Nintendo Journey videos, including Diddy being better than Mario Kart 64 😉

Ocarina of Time was Christmas 1998, my mam let me stay off school to queue up at Electronics Boutique in the morning and buy it. 11th December haha.

Fantastic mate. Looking forward to the collection video. Cheers 🍻

Really enjoyed listening to your story. I'm feeling a tad inspired actually.
Re: Goldeneye. We got two TVs and an RCA splitter. We then put paper over the top half on one TV and the bottom half on the other. I don't know what specifically you were smoking but, it must have been super strong to make you think Diddy Kong Racing was better than Mario Kart 64.
