The OnePlus7 Pro was an awesome phone and my personal fav of the 2019 devices but I don't think it influenced the market in a significant manner even with that 90hz screen. I think it did help to make OnePlus a more recognizable brand this year. Thank for watching!

I absolutely agree.
As a consumer, I think the most important things we need and actually care about are;

1. Great camera system
2. Great battery life
3. Good screen
4. Fairly enough storage
5. Great performance

We don't care about design, thinness or what the hell the screen to body ratio is.

I'm still really annoyed about manufacturer's removing headphone jacks. I will not buy another phone without one.

I think the 7 Pro was of the most influential phones. Obviously because of the 90hz screen, but how they did it was fantastic. Previously, mainly gaming phones has high refresh rate screens, and oneplus decided to bring that to the more used casual phone market. Because of this from this point in time and on, phones refresh rate will only increase from 60 and dosent have to be a gaming phone. Revolutionary.

as a media consumer I'd personally say the Sony Xperia 1 was my most important phone this year. a true 4K HDR OLED panel is groundbreaking and the 21:9 ratio is stunning. I hope its a ratio that gets adopted more in 2020. it's perfect for me

I can't be happier with my Samsung A70. Jumped from a Samsung S7 Edge to this, and, while I went from S to an A, it was a cheaper phone, with a very good screen, dual camera, and an endless battery life. Used an iPhone 11 for a few weeks, and while it has a gorgeous camera, iOS is so restricting with everything, that I had to take it out from my life.

Redmi K20 Pro, K20 and Asus ROG Phone 2 were the most influential phones of the year. They dropped price even more for the all screen premium (or almost) phones that offer even more in some features than the thousand dollar phones and even look better. Not only the best value for the price. No notch no holes + the Jack. They're just the best.
