Ever since my beautiful wife passed away, I started to follow up with the guitar she bought me a long time ago, this was the first one I really attempted, and wasn't doing too bad with it !
This has just made me attempt it again, thanks Justin, one of her favourite songs, and I would really love to see her dance again !

Lovely rendition.

As a musician with a big voice that plays lead guitar, I have to admit that this song with all of its quiet and subtle nuances still chokes me up. You my friend, have a naturally sweet voice that captures its true essence without simply mimicking. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity. Cheers!

Justin, this is a compliment, do you realize the way you explained to feel this song with your body, how that statement must have propelled many players to go to that next level as a player, where they most likely would have taken years to assend, that s amazing Jay, you re a great teacher !! ( and your playing is stellar also )

LYRICS MEANING: As a foreigner, most of the time I have to put effort into really understand the lyrics, the message of the song.
I would like to contribute with my short descriptions for those who learn the song by heart.

This song was written to Neil's wife Pegi, to celebrate the longevity and happy relationship. This strongly emphasised in the title of the song itself.

Harvest Moon as a phrase:

The closest fool moon to a day in March or September when the length of the night and day is equal.

Farmers used it as a marker that the growing season ended and time to harvest their crops. The exact day varies in 2017 it was on 5th of October.

Referring to the song, it is time for Pegi and Nail to enjoy the effort they have put into their relationship.

"Allow yourself the freedom to find it". I love that - thank you!

I love how you accentuate the feel as an important concept in really getting it. That is what it's all about. Not the silly behavioral response of memorization of certain patterns etc...Much the same when teaching anything as an art.

I'm nearly brought to tears simply from the demonstration and somehow you're able to scrape yourself together and carry on through the intro like nothing happened

Justin, I believe you have taken me to a new level with this song! I have probably watched this video 40 or 50 times already. I had difficulty with the D, Dmaj7, A, D riff but I'm getting it down. Your pleasant voice and expressive manner in which you try to capture Neil's essence makes each repetition of the lesson easier and always enjoyable! Thank you!

Thanks man. I danced with my Mom for the only time in my life to this song. A couple days later, she died of cancer. This one breaks my heart every time I hear it, and now I can play it.

Justin, I successfully played Niel's strum patterns all throughout college and even today; I however never played this song. I found it to be rather methodical. But recently I have been playing every Saturday night Live on youtube because of the lockdown. I have a lot of old friends viewing, and many of them ask me to play Neil. One close friend during my performance asked me to play Harvest moon. So I downloaded it and was shown to us a capo2 in the key of F. Like I said, I have his voice down, but I knew when I played it, it didn't have the feel. I want to thank you for showing me these chords. The reason is I can not play bar chords due to a hand injury when I was very young but made it wonderful with my voice. When I saw you going down the 10th fret with 2 fingers, tuning the E to a D, You showed me the magic of this song. Yes, it will take practice, but I loved the way you were patient, which a lot of Teachers like yourself have an ego. You do not. I am subscribing, and I will practice it this week. I have only one suggestion for anyone who does this song. When you make a mistake, ALWAYS START AT THE TOP, and do that forever until you can finish the song Justin taught us. Bravo Mate. I will see what other songs you can teach me. All the thanks in the world.
