I may be wrong here, but in defence of Chris, this sounds like the lawyers are in and Chris is not at liberty to discuss the issue publicly (whether he is who people say he is or not). Rumours like this are potentially damaging his 'brand' and he also has no obligation to answer any question, I'm sure Chris would have recieved grief regardless of his answer.

Personally I think Chris an exceptional creator and would have no need to go under a pseudonym to release an effect.
