Born: 1978, my folks were old "freaks" (as I was raised, there was some kind of metaphysical difference between "hippies" and "freaks". As I can see it, "hippies" "cared", about what I've never been sure; and "freaks" were in it for the sex and drugs). Either way, one of the first voices I remember is that of Judy Collins. She's the only woman I've been in love with since :)

What a first album for the 21-year-old soon-to-become folk legend and icon, and wonderful musical stylist in a variety of musical genres. Judy Collins sings these Irish songs as none other (except perhaps Joan Baez). Thanks so much for sharing!

Saw/heard her do this at The Bitter End on a chill night, early 60's! My intro to Judy! Couldn't get to sleep that night!

I thought, "No way will this be the Fire + Ice song..." only a minute in did I shake my head--it is! And it's so much cooler!
I found a Judy Collins 45 in a collection of boxes of records discarded on a country road, and lucky I listened to it.
