An Unbelievably Useful Travel Hack!

Some of you are going to consider this silly and I absolutely do not care. Do I look like someone who shies away from silliness? 🤪

For real, though, the suggestion that @gedfi made in my video in late September was so good that I absolutely pinned their comment and now it's getting a whole shout-out dedicated to the idea.

Another thing that i have used before is to use adouble boiler to liquify the deodorant and actually pour it into the smaller container. The deodorant then resolidifies and is fine.
The chapstick tube is a great hack for its size. Using that next time for sure

Can't wait for months from now when Dev has systematically packed every possible item into chapstick tubes. Toothpase? Chapstick. Deodorant? Chapstick. Soap, shampoo, conditioner? Chapstick. Emergency drinking beer? You're not gonna believe it. Chapstick

if a chapstick is too small, you could also try a glue stick or 'pritt stick' as they are known in the uk. slightly larger tube, but same principle.

Amazon sells 15ml oval “balm tubes”. Not as cheap or small as reused chapstick but less confusing form factor and easier application.

For your toothbrush there are small, cheap, folding brushes available.

I'd shine a light through to check how much actually got packed in there - I'd suspect that by filling it with the mechanism fully retracted, you've got a bubble under there.

There is a 50% thicker chapstick tube Vaseline makes that might be a bit more practical for this. Very cool hack!

One other deoderant-adjacent tip that makes a huge difference: shave your armpits! I didn't do this for the longest time because "it's not something guys do", but once I did it made a huge difference to how much deoderant I needed and how often I needed to apply it. Shaving reduces the surface area for bacteria, makes roll-on deoderants easier to apply for full contact and makes your armpits easier to clean. It's a tiny change for a huge difference in how you smell.

For an even smaller solution, check out antiperspirant wipes. They're individually wrapped and take up about the same amount of space as an alcohol wipe. Good to keep in a work bag, gym bag, in the car, or as a travel spare.
