New no-deal Brexit powers revealed

From day one in Downing Street, Boris Johnson pledged to "turbo-charge" planning for a no-deal Brexit.

Sky News can exclusively reveal the emergency measures being put in place to avoid gridlock at the port of Dover.

Hauliers will face increased fines and traffic officers will be given new powers to try and keep vehicles moving if the UK leaves the EU without an agreement.

The transport secretary says the changes are "necessary and proportionate" but haulage organisations warn that any new rules must be clearly communicated in order to avoid unnecessary penalties.

Sky's business correspondent Paul Kelso has this exclusive 'Brexit Forensics' report.

There is no such thing as "no deal", because we revert to WTO terms, plus we have already made minor deals which will occur no matter what. Let's save £39 billion and tell them where to go.

Learnt from giving a contract to a company with no boats? I thought giving a contract to a company with boats was the easy bit. But this government struggles with everything.

Queuing lorry’s leaving Britain ... what about the queuing lorry’s trying to get into Britain ? They sell us more than we sell them

"No, seriously, the sky is falling and only the EU can save us!"

If this tactic hasn't worked by now, it never will.

I am amazed how much is being spent so we can all be worse off.

I’m not sure what the uk hopes to benefit from Brexit economically? What will they trade? What does the uk have to offer if the services sector is killed off by leaving the single market? I don’t get it.

2 billion pounds for no deal brexit is a drop in ocean. At least UK government must set aside 35 billion pounds to reduce the impact of brexit on UK economy in 2020 alone.

This is just nonsense. The EU has far more goods coming into this country than we have going out. So we are all in the same _boat_. Any problems will be quickly sorted out as the EU cannot afford to have their goods parked up on the other side of the channel waiting to get to our markets.
Everyone talks about a trade deal as if it is only for the UK'S benifit. I live in Spain and recently the government has been warning of an impending economic recession. Germany and other countries are likewise near the brink... As the EU sells 8% _(taking into account trading within the EU + globally. 18% looking at trade within the EU only, and excluding global trade)_ of their goods in the UK, they cannot afford not to trade with the UK in the most favorable terms.

Brexit is bringing up a large amount of 'first world problems'. Whilst these are serious consequences for business and individuals, some people really aren't fussed about getting their avocados or Peruvian coffee for a few weeks.
