✦ GEAR I USE ✦

📸 Cameras:
---------------------------------------------------
I get a lot of questions about the cameras I use. Here are my main cameras:
This is a very durable camera. It withstands the elements and can go places other cameras can’t. There are many accessories available for GoPro cameras which makes the camera endlessly customizable and versatile. If you are intending to make vlogs or travel videos where you speak, you might prefer the creator edition which comes with more accessories.

This little handheld camera is very easy to pack because of its small size. It is not as rugged as the GoPro, but is easy to carry and make stable video. I use the creator combo version which includes an additional battery and a microphone that can be clipped to your shirt for improved audio which I like for filming walking tours.

🔋 Other useful tech:
---------------------------------------------------
This device attaches to a smartphone to help record more stable video.
An extra battery for the GoPro.
A flexible and durable charging cable that charges quickly.
These are great for recharging my phone or cameras while traveling, and are also useful for power outages.
This battery connects directly to the back of iPhones that have MagSafe and can charge the phone without the use of a cable.
This memory card works on most small cameras, and can record for a long time.
I take this hard drive with me when I travel so that I can back up the footage that I record on my trip. It fits in one of the pockets inside my tech case, and holds a lot of footage.

✈️ Travel gear I like:
---------------------------------------------------
This durable bag fits easily into the overhead compartments on airplanes and the straps can be configured to be comfortably worn as a backpack, which is nice for long walks through an airport.
I have both sizes, and have used the larger one consistently for many years. They are incredibly durable, and nicely fit all of my camera gear. I like that I can fit a GoPro inside of the larger one, along with cables, SD Cards, a battery and a small hard drive. People traveling with less gear or less space in their bags might prefer just the smaller pouch.
This towel spreads out large, but packs up tiny and dries quickly. I have disliked every other pack towel I have ever used, but this one is made of cotton and feels soft and does not have a funny smell.
Buying food when traveling gets expensive, so I try to pack as much food as I can. This cooler keeps things fresh for a long time. It also means that I can pick up local foods when I go places and bring them home with me.

A lot of this video is spent meandering around the older, seedier parts of the city. There are many more old, well kept residential areas and vibrant newer areas that are not shown. We get to see the "carp cannon" at 23:00, but no shots crossing the James River.

Lots of train tracks! I’m thinking about relocating in 9 to 10 years.

Thank you. I appreciate you making this video. I attend Liberty University online and want to go to my graduation next year in person. I thought it was beautiful. I love the college letters on the side of the mountain. It shows a love for our school and directs our minds to the Lord's call on our lives. I was wanting to see how treacherous the drive up the mountain is, but it doesn't look like a steep mountain road at all. Hopefully, that's true. I am so honored to be graduating from Liberty.

I lived there in 1996-97 while attending Liberty. A little trip down memory lane.

You showed maybe 35% of Lynchburg. You didn't go all the way down Wards Rd, Lakeside Dr, or Leesville Rd You didn't go down Timberlake or Old Forest Rd. You didn't go into many of the different suburban areas.

From what I see, the place seems decent in town, but a bland place. Are their a lot of parks, bike trails, hiking, and fishing activities?

You blew it Jack/Jill. Missed the most famous landmark in Lynchburg. The "T Room", also known as Texas Inn.

You really didn’t do a good job of showing Lynchburg. You made it look like a place dull people go die. All that driving and you avoided so much of the beauty it has to offer. Bad representation of a beautiful town. I grew up there! I am so disappointed by this.😢

Hmm, a pretty spread out downtown with lot of buildings from the 1960's and 1970's

Meh…. I give it a C…. An hour and a half and not one newer neighborhood and NOT EVEN ONE VICTORIAN MANSION? It was almost a waste of time….
