(Creo que no hay video en el que no me equivoque, no me maten u.u en el coro es "estos son los últimos blues que tendremos", lamento el error, no he dormido bien últimamente y estoy bien distraído ;-;)
El título de esta canción "El truco del cuchillo de Bishop" es una referencia a la película Aliens. En la película, un androide llamado Bishop realiza un truco de cuchillo por el favorito de los fanáticos Hudson, interpretado por el fallecido Bill Paxton.
La canción habla de que aunque los tiempos son difíciles en este momento y se sienten tristes, todo puede mejorar desde ese momento de tristeza. Dado que son conscientes de que esta es la última vez que sentirán ese tipo de tristeza, es mejor que "hagan todo lo posible", simplemente dejando salir todo su dolor y emociones, obviamente puede tener muchas más interpretaciones así que si a alguien tiene una diferente no olviden dejarla en los comentarios ^^

*Estoy pisando el acelerador hasta tocar el metal: en algunos autos, cuando pisas el acelerador hasta el final, golpea la barra de metal, es decir, significa ir muy rápido.
*Rebelión espiritual de la cintura para abajo: esto es muy confuso, parece que Pete tiene muchas historia con cinturas, ya sea por encima o por debajo de la cintura xd. Es probable que sea una referencia a la letra "Esta es una canción de amor a mi manera, feliz para siempre debajo de la cintura", de Bang the Doldrums, la undécima canción de Infinity on High (si alguien quiere aportar algo aquí, sería muy bien recibido :'v)
*spitfire: El Supermarine Spitfire es un caza británico de un solo asiento utilizado por la Royal Air Force y otros países aliados antes, durante y después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En la cultura popular a menudo se ve como rápido y con clase.

Creo que esta canción es una carta de despedida, en muchas maneras, dedicada a alguien que vivió contigo un sufrimiento mutuo ante las circunstancias de la vida, es aferrarse también a las cosas que vamos dejando atrás como la familia, creencias, valores.

Enserio es grande encontrar personas que tratan de dar sus propias interpretaciones a las letras de FOB, creo que hablo por todos los fans al decir que sus letras (Las de Pete) han dejado más dudas que respuestas, pero eso es lo divertido, que cada persona juegue con sus palabras, y como dice Sophomore Slump Comeback Of the Year: "Tal vez te robes una línea" 🧐.

A mi parecer las líneas con waist o hips son referentes a las relaciones sexuales de Pete durante sus malos años.
En este caso, para "una rebelión espiritual de la cintura para abajo" rebelión es "la acción y efecto de rebelarse. Este verbo, por su parte, está asociado a oponer resistencia, sublevarse o faltar a la obediencia debida" y espiritual [persona] "que es sensible y que se interesa más por aspectos relacionados con los sentimientos y la razón o por aspectos relacionados con la religión que por las cosas materiales" lo que se podría interpretar como resistirse a lo que quiere por lo que piensa, aquí cada quién puede interpretarlo a su manera.
