Note for GCSE the two different types of cracking are not required. Only that Long Chain hydrocarbons can be cracked into smaller chain hydrocarbons using a catalyst (check you specifiaction) and high temperature

You know how alkanes are saturated and don't decolurise bromine water, do they do it under UV light? Im confused because one place I read they do something under UV light and another place that they don't react :/

Do we need to know the exact pressures and temperatures? Because a question in the Spec paper 2 question only required that you wrote "High pressure" Rather than 70ATM for the conditions of Thermal Cracking
