”*The Lord said to Moses, ‘Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly to gether. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink”📜

💧When they were in Kadesh-Barnea, in the Zin Desert region, the people gathered to quarrel with Moses because there was no water. 🏝The murmur of the Israelites that resulted in a quarrel with Moses made Moses very upset and angry. 💧The people blame and accused Moses of bringing the people into the wilderness for the purpose of killing them.
🏝The people said, “Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here?” – Numbers 20:4 NIV. 💧Moses felt that the burdens he was carrying were very heavy.
🏝Then he and Aaron went to meet God in the Tent of Meeting of the Lord. 💧God heard their complaints and gave instructions so that the needs of water for the people were available. 🏝God told Moses to take his staff, accompanied by Aaron, and go to gather the Israelites near the rock. 💧God told Moses to speak to the rock and to be witnessed by the people. 🏝In this way the rock will produce water for the people to drink with their livestock. 💧But Moses and Aaron did not do as what God commanded.
🏝Insread Moses should have just spoken to the rock, but he hit the rock to ask for water to come out. 💧The resentment that overwhelmed Moses made him forget God’s command. 🏝Instead of exalting the name of the Lord, he exalts himself, saying, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” – Numbers 20:10b NIV. 💧*Remember, anger can lead to sin. * 🏝*Sin forgot God’s commandments. *
💧Self-exalting sin.
🏝Let us keep ourselves humble and always remember the advice from God’s word
