Hard Rock Cafe to close in Downtown Seattle; 66 employees to lose their jobs

Sixty-six people are set to lose their jobs, with the anticipated last day being Dec. 1. The company did not cite a reason for the closure.

Hard Rock International confirmed on Monday that the restaurant's last day in business will be on Dec. 1. Sixty-six employees at the location will lose their jobs.

"Since the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe Seattle in 2010, Hard Rock International has enjoyed serving the Seattle community and playing a role in the city's celebrated dining culture," the company wrote in a statement to KING 5, although they did not cite a reason for the closure.

There is no mystery why it’s closing. People don’t admit defeat and nothings going to fill that space. It’s bad business there. It’s bad business in San Francisco. It’s bad business in New York these metroplexes are dying, and people are leaving and will never go back.

Has anyone been to the hard Rock? If you've been there, you wouldn't ask why the crime, the homelessness, the nastiness. I'm surprised they didn't close earlier

I went there years ago for a birthday. I thought the food was okay, I got the alcoholic shake and again it was okay.

It seems kinda like a boomer(not saying this in a bad way, I mean the term in the way to describe the time era of the place and the theme here) diner.

Ya know the kinda place grandpa used to be get hammered at but, then met grandma and now he's only a couple beers a year since.

The kinda place grandpa took tabs to back when he was in the 60s, but now brings his grandkids for a milkshake.

Oh know! I am so sad as being ignored by staff, trying to eat a cold overpriced burger while watching a homeless guy drop a deuce on the sidewalk was my favorite summertime Seattle activity to do.
But thankfully I will have the memories that will last a lifetime……
