I've always changed what you do at the 1:24 mark instead of rebooting into system I reboot into recovery then I goto close recovery it confirms that my device is not rooted and offers to root and install superuser for me so I just do it that way and have never had any issues?.

Very usefull video. Did this on my Mac. Used Terminal then add ./ with every command.

I'm already on Paranoid Android using TWRP as my recovery. Can I just flash the 5.0 from TWRP without having to do this process?
On a Mac btw.

I don't download any kernel or anything... so my kernel should be stock unless its bundled in with recovery because in recovery it wouldn't have internet...so I dunno...but root checker verfies it works...

Hey Dave, good video.
I'm having a problem with my N5. I wiped it, and when I plug the phone via USB to my pc, nothing happens, there's no adb device, nothing under device manager. Not even a sound (Win7). I already went through all the drivers situation. The phone charges when it's connected and that's the only thing that gives me doubt when I'm considering replacing the USB port of the N5. Please, if anyone knows anything about this kind of problem, let me know.
