Transcend ESD310C - Long Term Review

I deal with smartphones daily for photo and videos testing, and I won't always be in a place where there's a stable network to upload samples to the cloud.

As a solution, the Transcend ESD310C has been a criticial piece to speeding up my review process as I could simply plug in and export everything quickly

It's tech that makes life and work easier, and my 1TB variant is plenty enough. These start from 512GB till 2TB and they read AND write fast.

It's really a MUST-HAVE for content creators looking to simplify their workflow.

holy crap. this is a game changer. gone are the days of traditional external drives. i bet within the next 5 years or so you will find these kinds of devices with 4/6 and maybe even 8 TB. thanks for the review i will definitely recommend this nifty little thing to friends.

I use the exact SSD on my PC and I'm just really amazed by its performance. I Stored Movies and even edit with it using demanding softwares, tested it by transferring huge files like TV series back and forth and I say its pretty fast for an external SSD that is literally the size of your thumb (or even smaller lol). So far this SSD is a tiny beast for me. Worth every penny! 👍🏼👍🏼

Have you tried recording ProRes Log 60 fps with these? I've tried doing that using UHS-1 SD and card reader but can only handle ProRes Log 30 fps and nothing above that. I'm thinking of getting this so I can do an external recording at 60 fps.

Thanks for a useful review of the drive. One tiny thing, it's a lot easier to parse Crystal Disk Mark data on the table it produces. We have all seen that table so many times, that we can quickly glance and take in what we need to know. It took much longer with your on screen text. Sorry to be picky, but feedback has to be useful... Surely?

Hello. I would like to know what kind of computer it was tested on? What USB port was it used on? I have a 128Gb capacity but its write speed was only max. 130mb/s. I tested it on a 3.1 USB port on my computer.

Is it true that it gets so hot that after a few minutes, the transfer rate drops to 40MB/s ?

Would you recommend this over the bigger portable ssd's such as the Crucial X8/X6, Samsung T7 Shield, or Kingston XS2000? I originally want an Adata SE880 but unfortunately, it is not available in my country.

Unfortunately mine did not perform well with my LG C2 TV, after 5 minutes of playing the 4K movies would stutter constantly, something I’ve never had issues with my USB drive and older and much slower SSD. Don’t know if it was a faulty unit or just incompatible with my TV for some weird reason but decided to return it and kinda scared to try another copy.

What about the ESD330C model from Transcend? Are the read-write speeds written about this product correct? I mean 1050MB/s - 950MB/s? Do you think I should buy Transcend's ESD330C SSD for its durability, fast data transfer and long lifespan? Finally, what is Transcend's latest SSD model?

Nice review bro, i want to buy ssd for backing up iphone 15 photos and videos but in doubt with this Transcend 310C and other ssd like sandisk or even planning on buying internal ssd with enclosure please suggest me which is good i think this one is good for usability but i cant find anywhere the speed comparison between this and other ssds…pls help
