The UltraLite Beehive Kiln is a table top jewelry kiln used to fire FS999 Fine Silver Clay, EZ960 Sterling Silver Clay, PMC and Art Clay Silver. It will fire glass cabochons, over glaze enamels and is good for metal annealing and heat treating. The UltraLite is also popular with jewelers world-wide for working with granulation, keum boo, and enameling techniques. And, it's possible to fuse small glass projects as well.

I recently purchased a whole bunch of stuff from Cool Tools (including the Studio kiln) to make my girlfriend a special ring, and this clarifies its usage very clearly - thank you so much.

That is a beautiful little band of roses.

It's disturbing to hear that some shapes won't sinter. Are there some PMCs or specific alloys that do better than others, in that regard?

Can you fire a cubic zirconia in your silver clay in the ultralight studio? Thanks so much!

To clarify for setup - the kiln is plugged into the temperture control and the temp control into the wall. Is that correct?

Also is the firing disk included? When I opened my box and went through all of the pieces, I couldnt find a firing disk, only the heating element. I took the kiln and lightly flipped it to see if maybe the firing disk was inside the kiln but I didnt find it. Only the heating element. Can I use my kiln w/o the firing disk?

So if you are going to make dimensional item it is best to buy what kiln? Want to be able to more rather than less?

The stone I found today looks like a watercolor mixup of all the colors but less oxide and more of a smooth tan. And, is about the size of the bullet part of a cartridge. I'm looking to tie wire? Or, twine mesh connection to bracelet. Also. I have sybolistic optical drawing, and altered Yen yan bouncy effect when rotated. Plus, screwing wide diameter reuse plastic bottles intellectual property about air and liquid screwing closures. Further, 2.5 in plastic firehose plug can be made into a tap tool if done carefully as well the plane stud is necessary for pressing rough thread system. But, not yet proven for efficiency and precision at that diameter. Looking to progress containment and lugsury. Please reply with your production and ideas. TJM

I'm so confused...I purchased the Ultralife Beehive Pro Studio kiln and EZ960 Sterling Silver clay. The EZ960 instructions for firing are different than what she states in the video. Can someone please clarify? I am brand new to this. I have made one pendant, and I followed her instructions. But my pendant is on the thick side and I can't tell if it's sintered or not. Also, I would like to make some pendants that have bendable prongs - is that possible to do in this kiln? If so, how long should I fire the pendant? Thanks so much!!

Are the kilns useful also with different metals such as copper or bronze etc? Is it necessary to buy also the heat control black box?

When first using either kiln should it be used in a well ventilated area like outside or in a garage?

Thank you so much for this video, I would like to try this method of jewelry making, but what stopped me was the heating process(expense/size). So this is certainly a possibility. You mentioned that it's not good for pieces that are not flat, what about a ring like a plain band, or a ring with some form of bezel setting? Thank you so much for your reply🙏🏼🌺

Can you only fire flat pieces that have no raised areas?

Those look like a good option. I assume PMC flex would work ok too?

I've just fired my first ez960 piece. I set it to 10 for preheat and then to 9 for ez960 firing temp. I placed my piece on thr ceramic insert amd let the binder burn off then covered with the lid. I was trying to fire for 3 hours but at hours 2 my piece looked as if the center was almost melted so I kept the lid off for the last hour. When I removed the piece the ceramic disk was stuck to it. Any ideas where I went wrong? Lid or no lid? To high a temp for that long? Thanks

Will either of these kilns work for firing things like rings and cuffs or bangles? Or are those too dimensional like your piece with the roses?

Were the other two successfully fired pieces at 5.12 also EZ960? If not, please can you tell me what was used? Thanks
