I actually downloaded the smart recorder app a while ago, but was puzzled when the audio was so short .. I didn't know about the "skip silence" mode.
Now I have turned that feature off and everything is fine now.

I just purchased ASR pro but I'm not sure I can record and go back and fix mistakes. Such a basic record long passages like I do, once in awhile you make a mistake, and go back and redo it....will ASR do this? If not, can you or someone else recommend another Android app that will? I tried Smart Recorder. I was excited about the cut out the silence feature. But it cut out the beginning before I started speaking, I mean, it cut out the first couple words of me speaking and other cuts are jarring. Not impressed by the one feature that I chose it for. I also am very disappointed that I can't change the save location to my SD card. The last straw is that I also can't edit the clips at all afterward. My default app on my 5-year-old phone could do both of those things. I'll try the next one on the list. Thanks.

The ASR recorder (#3) seems like the best one for me. I came here to see if there was a voice app that could record internal audio only (not a screen recording) while playing audio through the phone. If I'm trying to record a portion of a podcast, my voice recorder and podcast won't work concurrently. So far, the only method seems to be a screen recorder.
