“For several decades, Volkwagen commercial vehicles have been making life easier as reliable partners for tradesmen and the self-employed. Besides the experienced Transporter, the Crafter and Caddy have also made a name for themselves. That kind of security and trust also reflects on the owners and their businesses. This is the insight we based our new campaign on,” Marc Donner explains, Marketing Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
The insight was creatively translated into a campaign that turns VW commercial vehicles into popular business cards. The feeling of trust that VW vans inspire really tends to make an impression on people. In addition to TV commercials and a sleek print campaign, a banner campaign was also developed.
Volkswagen believed it was time to give back to its B2B clientele. Instead of using allocated banner space for its own purposes, Volkswagen decided to offer this platform to smaller business owners as a place where they can showcase their own advertisements. By virtually publishing their company details on a Volkswagen commercial vehicle, they can design their own ideal business card.
These personalised ads will be published on popular news sites at a later stage, such as Het Nieuwsblad, HLN, Sporza… As such, participants can ensure additional visibility and make a lasting impression on potential customers.
