Welcome to Skillet my friend! I’ve been a hard rock and heavy metal guy since I bought Back in Black by AC/DC when I was 7 years old. I had no idea when I got into Skillet that they were Christian Rock, and it doesn’t matter at all! I happen to be Catholic and absolutely love this band! I’ve seen them live 2 times and can’t wait for the next show!

This song is what I call my "stadium song." When I am varying up my workout I go to a local university and power walk/run the "stadium" stairs listening to this song....it really gets me pumped up🏃‍♀️

John Cooper, the lead singer, leads in all their songs, Jen Ledger just does backup vocals like in this song. She did put out her own album called Ledger. A couple of good songs by her are Warrior, and Not Dead Yet.

If you look closely, somewhere around the 2 30 mark, you can see an oozit in the background, right before it morphs into a dooch. Their imagery is really something else.

Can't tell you how happy I was to see a skillet reaction on this channel. I've been a skillet fan for the past 14 years now. So yeah..umm a few things. Lead singer and the woman playing the guitar are actually a couple. The woman on the drums is Jen ledger and her vocals are amazing. But I would suggest reacting to save me and dave me reimagined by them next. Then possibly delve into their older music starting with comatose, whispers in the dark, Rebirthing..i could go on and on i promise you. Im so glad you found them:) oh and most of their songs are religious but they preform them so it can relate to anyone's relationship. Loved your reaction. Can't wait til you go down this rabbit hole I've been in since 2006

This is the brilliance of Skillet. Technically, their lyrics come from a position of a religious persecution complex, meant to say that because of their religion people are out to get them. They are actually singing the song as a worship song to their god.

BUT! Because of the vague way they structured the lyrics, a listener can take away whatever meaning they want. I hope they stick with this format because I would hate to have to stop listening.
