I think this scene is intentionally added in the season 1 because this little accidental meet up may not feel important for now but late on in future with the subsequent seasons a particular moment will come where megha will come to know about sunny true identity and intentions and she will be crazily searching for him and she will remember meeting his ex-girlfriend whom she meet at the restaurent at the time when they were dating and the ex later on is gonna work as an informer against sunny who will reveal everything about Sunny's past.
