Nigerian TAI T129 ATAK helicopter seen

The T129 ATAK Attack Helicopter produced by TAI for Nigeria was displayed. Nigeria initially placed an order for 6 ATAK helicopters.

The delegation led by Nigerian Minister of Defense Mohammed Badaru Abubakar visited Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facilities. Committee; He examined aircraft produced by TAI such as HÜRJET, ANKA, AKSUNGUR and GÖKBEY.

During the visit of the Nigerian delegation, the first T129 ATAK Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter produced by TAI for the Nigerian Air Force was also displayed. Mass production and delivery activities of T129 ATAK, Turkey's first domestic attack helicopter, continue.

ATAK's first international deliveries were made to the Philippines last year. After the Philippines ordered 6 T129 ATAKs, 6 T129 ATAKs were also ordered by Nigeria. Both the Philippines and Nigeria are expected to order additional T129 ATAK helicopters in the near future. The ATAK helicopter is accepted in the world as the best attack helicopter in its class.

It is estimated that the first T129 ATAK helicopter produced for Nigeria will be shipped to Nigeria at the end of 2023 or at the beginning of 2024.

T129 ATTACK; It can be equipped with 500 pieces of 20-millimeter gun ammunition, 16 Roketsan CİRİT Missiles, 8 L-UMTAS or UMTAS Missiles, 8 Stinger Missiles or 76 pieces of 70-millimeter rockets.

The helicopter is powered by two LHTEC-CTS800-4A Turboshaft Engines of 1,373 shp each. The helicopter can reach a maximum speed of 281 km/h; It has an airtime of 3 hours, a range of 537 kilometers and an altitude ceiling of 15,000ft.
