Our first reaction trailer to Indian Cinema! "The first trial, that of Shah Nawaz Khan, Gurubaksh Singh Dhillon and Prem Sahgal was held between November and December 1945 against the backdrop of general elections in India with the Attorney General of India, Noshirwan P. Engineer as the chief prosecutor and two dozen counsel for the defence, led by Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru. All three of the accused were charged with waging war against the king contrary to section 121 of the Indian Penal Code'. In addition, charges of murder were levelled against Dhillon and of abetment to murder against Khan and Sahgal. The defendants came from three different religions - one Hindu, one Sikh, and one Muslim - but all three elected to be defended by the defence committee set up by the Indian National Congress."

I don't mean to right an essay here... but
The Indian National Army was an official force in WW2 Headed by the great leader Subhash Chardra Bose. The Prime Minister of The Indian National Goverment in exile {Recognised by The Axis Powers} Although Mr. Bose never support Nazzi or Fassist idiologies... He was willing to do whatever it took to gain independence for India from The British.{Even if it meant shaking hands with 'The Devil' Hitler}
The INA was formed out of British Indian troops who were POWs in Japan and Germany. The faught valiently until the end and their militery exploits although largely over-looked are among the most rare and daring war time braveries in the world. Every nation loving Indian is proud of the INA, and I am sure every freedom loving citizen of the world will be. I sincarely thank you for making the effort to react to the trailer and I hope you enjoy the movie. Feel free to contact me if you wish to know more about India's freedom Struggle.
Long live INA Long live India Long live democracy and justice.

Little bewildered that you are ignorant of fifth largest religion. But if you are aware of US taking part in second world war, 3 lakhs Sikhs participated in that war on the same side againt Axis powers proudly wearing their turbans. 83, 000 were killed and rest were alive to see the victory of the Allies.

This film is based on the famous 'Red fort Trials'. A section of British Indian Army fell at hands of Japanese forces in WW2 in Singapore, Malaya & Burma. After the fall of Singapore, many of the BIA forces were taken POWs and sent to Japanese camps. These POWs later formed a nationalist army to fight against British Imperialism. This army known as the Indian National Army (INA) was heavily inspired by the Indian freedom fighter Mr Subhash Chandra Bose & his famous slogan "Give me blood, and I shall give you Freedom". Later after the British victory in WW2, some of these officers & soldiers captured by the British went through a series of trails between November 1945 and May 1946, for charges variously for treason, torture, murder and abetment to murder during WW2. The first, and most famous, of the approximately ten trials was held in the Red Fort in Delhi, hence they are also known as the "Red Fort trials". In total, approximately ten courts-martial were held. The most famous trial/court martial was of three officers of the British Indian Army (later Indian National Army) namely Major Shahnawaz Khan, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon & Colonel Prem Sehgal for "conspiring & waging war against the King" in accordance with laws made by the British Indian government. These trials attracted much publicity, and public sympathy for the defendants who were considered patriots of India and fought for the freedom of India from the British Empire.

Secondly, yes its dangerous for Sikh soldiers to not wear actual helmets during battle but you have to know that Sikhs are very proud people when it comes to following their religious traditions. They love their turban more than their life. Don't joke on what you don't understand. Thanks. :)

Our Sikhs are the bravest of the brave. They need no helmets or jackets. They will fight on to the end even if they're heads were severed from their bodies. They are fearless and honourbound. So pls dont disrespect them.

Read about the INA Trials.

The trials led to massive uprisings in the British Indian Armed Forces, starting with the Royal Indian Navy (RIN). The Indian sailors in RIN renamed their force as Indian National Navy (INN) to express solidarity with the INA soldiers facing trial at the Red Fort.

Soon, the revolt spread to the British Indian Army and Royal Indian Air Force and Indian soldiers refused to obey the command of British officers.

Bose and INA had broken the backbone of the British Empire in India - the loyalty of the Indian soldiers.

Clement Attlee, the then British Prime Minister told the House Commons that the loyalty of the Indian soldiers could not be trusted any further, and it was time to leave India for good.

It was Bose and the INA that was responsible for the British leaving India so soon even after winning WWII.

This is the real history.

I appreciate your reaction. you will have to read a bit to get sense of this movie. although you'll have to watch this movie with a pinch of salt cause it involves Netaji Subashchandra Bose trying to negotiate with Nazis to be handed over Indian pows.
