This guy is spot on. Mattress industry is crazy corrupt. Get yourself some 8" springs, a 3" latex topper, and a zippered mattress cover. Boom. Done. Best bed ever.

My current setup is a homemade hybrid. 4 inch latex topper on a basic firm innerspring mattress.

I thought he was being honest because he explained the differences but pointed out that it comes down to personal preference

I grew up with a latex mattress in the 1950s. Now going back to one. This video is really helpful.

I've had a very high quality 100% latex mattress over the past 8 years. As a larger side sleeper I found it doesn't yield the best support and I frequently get lower back pain from lack of spinal alignment.

Thanks for the video. I didn't see any other videos comparing the 2 types of cores. You said you have to go and try out what feels best. That is hard to do with so many internet-based options. I guess it is just... see if you can find what you like locally and if not or if you want to try to save some money, do some initial research to determine what you think will be best, then order one and try it out until you find one that works.

Good to know about the hybrid side sleeping thing. We just ordered a tight top pocket coil mattress and plan to add a latex topper to make our own "hybrid" mattress.

We bought a temperpedic cloud in 2012 because we are both mostly side sleepers and it was great until about 7 years and then I noticed a lack of support beginning in 2019. Here we are in 2023 still dealing with it as I just can't decide on what mattress to trust again. I thought $5000 for seven good years a bit much. I am currently putting a folded towel under a foam topper to get some support. The other consideration is that my husband has gained 50 to 60 lbs since 2012 and is now at 250. I'm at 116. So I'm thinking we will need to go firmer for longevity with mattress topper for cushioning the joints. He also sleeps hot and I don't. Have considered a split king but don't want an XL. I am really missing the Serta Perfect Sleeper, top of the line, we got in 1987 or so. Got 18 years out of it by flipping. So comfortable! Looking for that AH! feeling I always felt when I laid on it. :(

What if you had a soft talalay on top then a med dunlop and then firm dunlop. Wouldn't that solve the problem of bottoming out if you are a side sleeper? Especially if you weigh over 250? or say 2 soft talalay and a firm dunlop? I can feel the springs pushing back on the hybrids and I always bottom out on the memory foams. Have yet to try latex. Im still on the hunt for that right mattress for a heavy side sleeper.

So what you're saying is it's all a crapshoot until you try it out for yourself...so make darn sure there's a return policy!

We tried a latex hybrid from sleep ez and loved it for about a year...then the springs broke down and had impressions then we hated it. Back hurt, neck hurt. If i buy another it will have no springs

I just ordered the Botanical Bliss 12 inch in medium- I hope I ordered the right one. I chose the all latex because I was concerned it would cause to much pressure as they only have about 4 inches of latex. I am about 5’5” and 212# kinda nervous 😬

I have ms, which is better for firmness, I sleep on my back but, my mom tells me I tend to turn over on my stomach. I do not like the falling feeling that I tend to have on some mattresses.

Hi,
I have tried multiple beds the last few months and have decided to try latex since none of them were right for me.
Can you tell me which latex bed you would recommend for me?
I am 120 pounds, combination sleeper. I do not like the feel of memory foam and prefer more of a traditional mattress feel, like I am on top of the mattress rather than sinking into it. I sleep hot, and all of the hybrid beds I have tried claim to be cooling but are not at all. I prefer a balance of soft but firm for support. I have watched so many videos as well as read many reviews and cannot figure out which would be best for me and I am tired of buying and returning. Please help!

Ok I'm 225lbs will a 3in latex topper be enough to support me if I go with the hybrid or should I go with 2 two inch toppers?

I bought a Tempurpedic mattress when Tempurpedic was new and it was the original and only mattress they sold. It's very dense and only nine inches deep which worked great on my adjustable bed. I want to have that exact mattress again but Tempurpedic no longer sells it.
Can you tell me who sells a very dense 100% Latex foam mattress that's only nine inches deep?

This is a question of durability between latex base core versus pocketed coil base.

what is the minimum latex thickness required over a pocket spring hybrid?
