Earlier this month, the Science Museum Group premiered a brand new Technicians Gallery at their museum in South Kensington, celebrating technicians and those who have dedicated their careers to the development and advancement of technologies. From media to medicine to manufacturing, the new Gallery allows young people to experience a taster of a vast array of career opportunities in innovative and developing industries.
Direct Access is committed to the growing implementation of accessible environments within Science Museum buildings. We previously conducted accessibility audits of several facilities, including the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and the Medicine Gallery at the same London site hosting this gallery.
Our team consulted with disabled people to discover what would need to be done to allow them to interact with the new exhibits in a way that best suited their needs. Check out some of the results below!
