Leaked government food strategy heavily criticised

Campaigners and opposition politicians have criticised reports that the government will not implement a recommended crackdown on unhealthy food.

A leaked version of their new food strategy advises people to eat wild venison as a low-carbon alternative to beef and grow their own cucumbers to save the planet.

A lot of struggling families are buying ready-made meals because they can't afford the gas/electricity to cook fresh food. It's a lot cheaper to pop them in the microwave for a few minutes rather than have the cooker on. A food bank told my mate that some families haven't even got the gas connected because of the monthly standing charge is too expensive never mind the cost of gas.

Surely making all healthy food cheap would help the NHS because obesity causes a hell of a lot of money for the NHS. I think bottled water should be at least half the price. The government could do so much more to help the country but they're not
