This is the most common tank in the German army. It was one of the Key Players in the Blitzkrieg military doctrine In Africa, however, the Panzer three was by far the most common German light tank. The Panzer 3 is also known as the Panzer kamp fwagen, meaning armor battle vehicle in English. It was Upgraded and innovated to many variants Ranging from Tracks to engine to arnaments. This is one of the many tanks that revolutionized the standardization of Equipping tanks with the Anti Tank Gun the Pak 36.
Yes That’s Right they keep on slapping Bigger and Bigger guns from the panzer 3 to the Tiger 2.

0:34 88 cms? Wouldn't that make it almost double the size of the Yamato battleship main guns? Shouldn't it be 8.8 cms or 88 mms

Good and informative video.

1) One little tip about the pronouncing >Panzerkampfwagen<: The first two words >Panzer< and >Kampf< you speak correct, but you speak the word >Wagen< wrong. >Wagen< is an old german word for >car<, can also be used as a verb for >wagen< (dare). You speak it like the english >wage<. Speak it like the english >wagon< (wheel wagon). It comes very close to german pronouncing!

Blitzkrieg Military Doctrine?

The German Army doesn't used this term, it was called Bewegungskrieg or Manöverkriegsführung.

Hey,
this video gives a nice overview.
Could you do a video on the experimental german tanks the VK-Series (VK: Versuchskonstruktion) e.g. VK 30.01

They still use Pak 36 and 38s today. They got them on ships on trailers and tanks, some of that ww2 was well engineered we still use howitzers and a lot of the large ship cannons still are basically the same just better material and better rounds the gun is pretty much the same they just add auto loaders and targeting systems

AIs are funny in pronunciation.

They said 1930 is nineteen hundred thirty
When it’s actually nineteen thirty

A couple of little known facts: 1/ A small number of the 3.7cm and 5.0cm versions of the Panzer III had gyro stabilized guns and were used in Rommel's Africa Korps. They used 'big gyros" where a large 200mm gyroscope directly stabilized the gun. This system didn't work with larger guns and so disappeared until 1945 when gyro stabilized optics and firing circuits were to be introduced on the Panther Ausf F and Tiger II. (one of the reasons for the Tiger and Panthers long travel interleaved road wheels was firing on the move)
2/ According to the Osprey Book on the Panzer III The Germans were planing to introduced Tungsten APDS Armour Piercing Discharging Sabot in 1941 but the technology didn't pass acceptance testing and so they used a simpler tungsten core round. This was they only way they could penetrate a T-34 from the front it is said. Usual problem with APDS is uneven sabot separation and requires careful design and tolerances.
3/ The Chassis of the Panzer III couldn't accommodate a turret that could hand a gun bigger than the 5, 0cm L60 but the Chassis became the basis of the StuG III which was a heavily armored self propelled gun with a very low profile that became the most successful tank killer of WW2.
