Still Using DevDesktop? Update Drupal to the Latest Version

A LOT of people are still using Acquia's DevDesktop even though it reached "end of life" (EOL) in the summer of 2021. It's still one of the easiest and quickest ways to spin up a Drupal site for training and even site building.

The problem rests in that you CAN'T update Drupal past version 9.0.3 even with composer! In this video Rod shows you the manual, but still easy, way

Hi,
i updated to drupal core 9.3.5. I guess it works but i received the following error in the logs: Failed to get available update data. Includes: Automated Cron, Bartik, BigPipe, Block, Breakpoint, CKEditor, Color, Comment, Configuration Manager, Contact, Contextual Links, Custom Block, Custom Menu Links, Database Logging, Datetime, Field, Field UI, File, Filter, Help, History, Image, Internal Dynamic Page Cache, Internal Page Cache, Link, Menu UI, Node, Options, Path, Path alias, Quick Edit, RDF, Search, Seven, Shortcut, Standard, System, Taxonomy, Text, Text Editor, Toolbar, Tour, Update Manager, User, Views, Views UI

After i go again at website_name/update.php it returns that no available updates are available (meaning all has been already updated).

Do you think it will work in a normal way?

I have run through this several times. All I get are errors. Insert sad face icon. I have tried on a PC with several past test sites that run fine before I do this update but fail afterwards. The sites no longer function and the update fails as well. I just see "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."
