If the name Brock McGinn sounds familiar, he scored the OT goal in game 7 against Washington in last year's first round on a pass from Justin Williams. Rod Brind'Amour was their head coach.

So, is it a stretch to say that the Leafs got beaten by David Ayers this year partly because of that trade sixteen years ago??? 🤔

Fun Fact: James Reimer is top 10 in shutouts in Sharks history despite playing only 8 games for them.

I was devastated when we traded Francis, but I can't complain about the result. I just wish he could've won a Cup with us

I’m surprised Steve didn’t squeal like a schoolgirl at the James Reimer pick

As a cans fan, this was awesome. I felt like I was finishing Steve’s sentences the whole time

Ron Francis was most certainly the face of the whalers in the 80's. 5 times he lead them in scoring and 9 times in would say he was their best player. Also, upon his return to the franchise, now in Carolina, he was 1st or 2nd in scoring 4 straight seasons!

Ronnie Francis deserved to be on that 2006 team, he did so much for that franchise.

As a Canes fan who was in preschool when the trade (and the Cup run) happened, this video was very informative.

If James Reimer was still on the Leafs when Mathews came to town, would he have given up 34?

Don't forget that Ginner is an elite penalty killer, I could watch him do it all day

This was a really good one. Not as many pieces, but described so very well.

Can't believe he talked about a goalie in a Leafs-Hurricanes related video and did not mention David Ayres

I love McGinn and Reimer, I had no clue the Francis trade helped us acquire them. Absolutely love this series
