DT will always be superior. That feeling of outright invulnerability when you see and hear small arms rounds plink off your armor is so satsifying.

New Vegas also gave us Jury Rigging, which really make the armor degradation so much less severe. Especially if you use light, since ANY clothing can be used to repair light armor

My man, the repair skill is right there. Armor resistances and weapon damage in 3 and NV scale with durability.

I never really had problems with armor, especially after the Talons started coming after me. I either just toke their armor and used it repair mine then sold their stuff for caps or had enough caps to repair it. Then when I had power armor I had plenty of caps to keep it topped off only needing to fix it every now and then

One of the few good things in FO4 is the design of power armor actually feeling like you’re a futuristic knight in armor.

The fusion core system is lame and a retcon but I understand that they wrote themselves into a corner because they give you the best mechanic in the game so quickly.

Regardless, power armor in FO4 is just special and makes an organization like the BoS not feel dumb for having ranks like “knight” or “paladin” because that power armor really does put them on a different level compared to everyone else just like Medieval knights were.

Not how DT works in New Vegas unfortunately. Even if you “stop” the bullet you will still take 20% of the damage if it were below your DT. However, in the original fallouts before Bethesda, anything below your DT was straight up negated so you would take 0 damage.

I didn't mind 3s armor system that much but yeah it did make getting any new armor or apparel a let down, and you also get access to a steady stream of enclave power armor which is what I mainly used until I got the expiremental medic armor

If you have combat armor you literally have an infinite supply of talon combat armor to repair your own as long as you have good karma

that’s why you need the dlc and get the winterized t-51 has full heath and doesn’t degrade. only armor worth a shit in that game
