Explosions heard in massive Linwood industrial estate blaze as residents warned to stay indoors

RESIDENTS near a massive industrial estate fire have been warned to "stay indoors" after locals heard explosions "every second" as the blaze raged on.

Firefighters raced to the scene after the inferno broke out at an electrical and battery recycling treatment facility at around 9pm in Linwood Industrial Estate in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

This is at least the 2nd battery recycling plant fire this year in the same part of Scotland. On 8th April 2024, Fenix Battery Recycling plant in Kilwinning caught fire.

It was only a few months ago there was an incident in Kilwinning, a factory dealing with batteries that went up in smoke!!!
