Thanks for the specific examples your video addresses, very helpful and a nice pace for my students. One of my students noted that in your last example, the 9 - 4x² should become (3-2x)(3+2x) (you forgot to remove the square on the x... (3- 2x²)(3+2x²) ) but honestly, I'm glad you did, because I now know my student's grasp of exponent laws is solid!

What if the GCF is already part of the difference of squares that you need to square too? For example: I had to factor this polynomial equation 4(x-y)^2-1(x+y)^2.

So for    4x^2 - 64    would the GCF be 4 or would it be 4(x+4) (x-4)   ?  what would be the best to put on my test

The second difference of squares answer should have been 2x not 2x^2 (tough stuff).
