It’s funny how so many people think roger and whitebeard were enemies due to them being rivals, but to them they were like best friends. Both men loved the thrill of adventure/battle and also had love for their crews, so being rivals was like being good friends to them. The flashback episodes show they locked horns and fought heavily, but it always ended with no casualties and a friendly treasure trade party.
