Donald Trump slams 'gutless' Bill Barr following 'disgraceful' indictment

Former US president Donald Trump has slammed his former attorney-general Bill Barr over his "cowardly" reaction to his indictment for allegedly obtaining classified documents.

Mr Trump called Mr Barr "gutless" and the indictment against him "disgraceful" in an interview with WABC Radio.

"Virtually everybody other than a low life like Bill Barr — who I, as you know, I terminated because he was gutless, he wouldn’t do what you’re supposed to do — but everybody says this is a disgraceful indictment." Mr Trump said.

Mr Barr told Fox News host Shannon Beam Mr Trump is "not a victim" and is "totally wrong" to have the documents.

"He's not a victim here. He was totally wrong that he had the right to those documents, those documents are the most sensitive that country has, they have to be in the custody of the archivist. He had no right to retain them."
